Gumbo's debut record, "Purification," directed by the legendary Trevor Lawrence Jr., set the stage for their rise in the hip hop underground scene. This track was the first single from the movie Cut Throat City, directed by none other than RZA. "Purification" is more than a song; it's an anthem of raw energy and unfiltered reality, capturing the essence of Gumbo's sound.
Following the success of "Purification," Gumbo dropped "Red Hand Janky," another banger directed by Trevor Lawrence Jr. This track was featured as the first single for the controversial movie Karen, directed by Coke Daniels. "Red Hand Janky" dives deep into social issues and personal reflections, showcasing Gumbo's ability to tackle heavy themes with unapologetic honesty.
